What is a web scenario?
A web scenario is a series of pages visited (generally the sales funnel) executed one after the other. It imitates the behavior of a visitor on your website. When an error occurs on one of the steps, the scenario stops and cannot execute the next step. A red bar will then appear on the chart and the load time will appear as 0 by default.
To create/modify/delete a web web scenario you need to have authorization from the 'Admin' or 'Owner' in Quanta.
The number of web scenarios you’re allowed to create depends on the Quanta licence you have: Starter, Business or First. Every web scenario is updated every minute and your data retention also depends on your licence type.
Create your first web web scenario:
To create your first web scenario, click on the 'Settings’ icon (3 cog wheels on the top-right of your screen) followed by 'Web scenarios'.
You have 3 possibilities to create your web scenario :
|Create a scenario||
Enables you to create an empty web scenario in which you will be able to create your steps individually by clicking on the “+” icon on the right side of every line
|Create a default scenario||
Enables you to create a web scenario with several default steps in which you will only have to insert the URLs of the webpages you want to monitor
|Create a default logged in scenario||Similar to the default scenario but with an extra step for simulating a ‘logged in’ visitor|
Firstly, let’s create a web scenario by default. Click on "Create a default scenario"
You can change the name of the scenario at the top and you can add steps or enable/disable our probes by clicking the settings in the top-right.
By clicking the settings button at the right of each step you will find 'Advanced' settings. You will find the following fields for each line:
This is the expected HTTP return code. It is important to properly set it up according to the actual return code of your page (that you can obtain with your browser developer tools). If the return code is different to the one set up in the tool, an error will arise and the web scenario will not execute the steps that follow.
Insert here a phrase or a word found on the specified page. This will allow us to verify that we’ve recovered the correct page with the right content. The expected string is case sensitive and must match the text as it is in HTML and not as rendered by the browser (i.e. the chain “« Bonjour Romain » (bold caracter), the HTML is « Bonjour <b>Romain</b> »).
If you have subscribed to the alerting option, an alert will be sent in case of wrong return code.
|Magento profiling||Allows activation or retrieval of information coming from our QUANTA module. CAUTION: This feature is a must.|
|Méthod||in a default web scenario, the method to be used will be “GET” in 99% of cases. If necessary, you can switch to “POST” mode and in this case, a field “POST data” appears, allowing you to switch the parameters to send (this field is limited to 2048 characters)|
|+ / –||Allows to add/delete a step|
You can change the order of steps by using the button at the far left in each step to drag and drop to the position that you want.
It is necessary to save your modification before leaving this page.
